(WASHINGTON, D.C., 12/3/13) -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on members of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee to support the adoption of a resolution urging the Government of Burma (Myanmar) to end the persecution of its Rohingya minority and respect internationally recognized human rights for all ethnic and religious groups within Burma.
CAIR thanks the hundreds of concerned citizens who responded to our action alert urging the Senate to ease such transfer provisions for Guantanamo Bay inmates.
(Washington, D.C., 11/19/13) -- On Friday, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) joined 18 human rights and civil liberties organizations in calling on the Senate to support Guantanamo Bay detainee transfer provisions included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2014 (S. 1197).
